About the team This is an exciting opportunity to join our Floorcare, Irons and Seasonal Electricals team within GM Commercial. It is a high-profile area with strong market share, well-known brands and plenty of innovation, from robot vacuum cleaners to seasonal heating and cooling. You will work with brands including Dyson and Shark, support a broader portfolio of growing suppliers, and contribute to Bush own-label product development across the category. More about the role As Assistant Buyer, you will support the Buyer or Senior Buyer to deliver category sales, margin and supplier income targets. You will take ownership of agreed ranges or subcategories, helping to shape range strategy, select products, forecast performance and turn customer, competitor and market insight into clear commercial actions. Day to day, you will manage promotional cycles, review pricing and trading performance, coordinate product and range activity against critical paths, and work closely with suppliers and teams across Merchandising, Product Development, Global Sourcing, Digital and Marketing. The role combines genuine buying and range responsibility with the accurate administration needed to launch products and promotions successfully. More about you You will bring experience from a buying, range, product, category or related commercial environment and be comfortable working with sales, margin, pricing and market information. You can organise multiple priorities, maintain accurate data and communicate clear recommendations to colleagues and suppliers. You build positive working relationships, take accountability for delivery and keep the customer at the centre of your decisions. You will also be adaptable in a fast-moving environment, willing to challenge constructively and keen to keep developing your commercial and negotiation capability.
