Salary Range: €20,300.00 - €37,700.00 Job Description Summary Location: Menges, Slovenia #onsite Role Purpose: As an Associate Expert in our Downstream Process Development team in Mengeš, you will plan, prepare and execute purification experiments at laboratory and pilot scale, run pilot batches, and monitor and operate processes. Working closely with scientists, chemical engineers, the team and other departments, you will provide technical support, help analyze and interpret data and trends, propose improvements to process efficiency and robustness, and contribute to continuous improvement, compliance and operational excellence in DSP. Job Description In this role, you will: Plan, prepare and execute downstream processing experiments at laboratory and pilot scale, with guidance from senior team members. Execute pilot batches, and run, monitor and control DSP processes and equipment. Complete process documentation accurately and on time after process execution, in line with good documentation practices and internal procedures. Collaborate closely with scientists, chemical engineers and the DSP team, providing hands-on technical support for development and pilot activities. Support the analysis and interpretation of experimental and process data, including the monitoring of process trends. Propose improvements to increase process efficiency and robustness. Work with different departments and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of project activities. Contribute to continuous process improvement, compliance and operational excellence in DSP, and ensure adherence to applicable quality, ethics, health, safety and environmental requirements. Education & Technical expertise MSc in Biotechnology, Biochemical or Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Technology or a related scientific or engineering discipline; alternatively, BSc with relevant experience in pharmaceutical development and/or manufacturing. Basic knowledge in biotechnology or bioprocessing; basic knowledge of downstream processing unit operations (e.g., chromatography, filtration, UF/DF) and process parameters. Ability to prepare and execute laboratory experiments and pilot-scale processes according to plans and procedures, and to document results accurately in line with good documentation practices. Basic data analysis skills, with the ability to recognize process trends and deviations and to contribute to troubleshooting and process improvements. Ability to organize own work, follow agreed priorities and deliver reliable results on time, working effectively within the team and with other departments. Interest in digital tools, automation and data-driven approaches in process development; previous experience is an advantage. Good written and spoken English and good communication skills, combined with a responsible, accurate and collaborative approach.
