Location: Budapest, Hungary Job type: Permanent, Full-time, Hybrid About the job Sanofi Business Services (SBS), one of the 4 pillars of Sanofi’s Business Transformation organization, is setting up a new captive Business Services center in Budapest to provide Finance & Accounting (Account-to-Report, Customer-Invoicing-to-Cash) as well as Employee oriented (Employee Experience) services. Within the Account to Report (A2R) process, the Business Services Centre covers the following areas: • Asset Management • Tax and Intercompany Accounting • Treasury Accounting • General Ledger (GL) Closing and Reporting Purpose of the Role The Closing & Reporting Accountant is responsible for: • Delivering monthly GL closing and reporting services to SBS • Performing monthly closing activities in line with the Group timetable • Preparing management, tax, legal, and statutory reporting at Group and country levels • Resolving operational issues effectively and in a timely manner, following each through to completion • Meeting operational KPIs and complying with Sanofi policies and guidelines • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives Reporting Line and Collaboration The Closing & Reporting Accountant reports to the A2R Closing & Reporting Lead and may be assigned a specific sub-process. The role works closely with Finance (Controlling, Treasury, Tax, Internal Control, etc.), other SBS departments, Customer Service, and the wider A2R team. Main responsibilities: Deliver GL monthly closing and reporting services to SBS, including reviewing automatic posting interfaces, closing AR & AP sub-ledgers, and closing Balance Sheet and P&L accounts Request and collect recurring and non-recurring items, reconcile accounts, and post Manual Journal Entries (MJE) Prepare management, tax, legal, and statutory reporting at Group and country levels, and contribute to business reviews Execute all processes, transactions, and reports in compliance with Sanofi accounting policies, internal control guidelines, and audit/SOX requirements Complete all activities in line with the global Core Model and operational KPIs Develop expert-level knowledge of activities in scope, local entity knowledge, and build, document, and transfer A2R Core Model process knowledge (Level 6/7) for GL monthly closing and reporting Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to eliminate redundant activities and support process automation initiatives, ensuring seamless adoption and transition About you 3-5 years in general ledger accounting, financial closing, and reporting, ideally in a multinational or shared services environment Hands-on experience with month-end closing, account reconciliations, and manual journal entries Experience with management, statutory, and/or tax reporting Working knowledge of internal control frameworks and SOX/audit requirements Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or local GAAP and statutory reporting Solid understanding of the Account-to-Report process, including AR/AP sub-ledger closing Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel Process automation or Power BI knowledge is an advantage Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance Chartered accountant qualification or equivalent professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is an advantage Languages: Excellent written and verbal English Additional European language skills are advantageous Why choose us?
