## Description

Shape the future of AI infrastructure! Join AWS as we scale our Manufacturing Test Engineering team developing comprehensive testing solutions for our innovative AI acceleration hardware, deployed across our global server fleet. Annapurna Labs (our organization within AWS) designs hardware and software that accelerates innovation. Our custom chips, accelerators, and software stacks enable breakthrough performance in cloud computing, helping customers solve previously impossible challenges. We're expanding our AI Hardware Test Organization and seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to develop, deploy and sustain the tests that qualify the boards, sleds and systems inside our machine learning training systems. In this role you will own test development for assigned products and test insertions — writing test plans, building automated test suites, validating them against known-good and known-bad units, and deploying them to our manufacturing partners. You will work alongside hardware designers, software engineers, and manufacturing operations throughout the product development cycle, and you will own your tests once they are running on the line: triaging failures, closing coverage gaps, and keeping stations healthy at multiple sites. Our training systems are built from several kinds of hardware — accelerator baseboards, switching and interconnect sleds, trays, and complete racks — and your assignment will follow the program's needs rather than a single fixed product. What stays constant is the work itself: taking a new or changed design through test development, proving the test catches real defects, and keeping it healthy once a factory is running it at volume. The ideal candidate pairs a solid understanding of computer systems — host software, firmware, buses and the high-speed interfaces between them, and the board underneath all of it — with solid programming ability, hands-on hardware debug skill and a dedication to quality. You are comfortable driving a board or system under real workload rather than only measuring it, and you want to see your test catch a defect before a customer does. Key job responsibilities - Develop and execute test plans for boards, sleds, trays and systems — from prototype through high-volume production - Own the functional test content for your assigned products: device and interface enumeration, bring-up, and stability under sustained load - Design and build automated test suites and station software using Python, C/C++ and shell scripting - Deploy your tests into high-volume manufacturing and sustain them once deployed, including remote triage of station and test failures at partner sites - Drive system-level and workload-based functional testing across hardware, firmware and software integration - Debug failures across the hardware/firmware boundary and perform failure analysis to physical root cause - Validate new and changed tests against known-good and known-bad units, and correlate testers before release to production - Analyze test and yield data to identify coverage gaps, and own the corrective action that closes them - Partner with our contract manufacturers and ODM functional teams to implement test solutions and scale them across sites - Maintain clear test documentation and procedures for manufacturing teams A day in the life Work/Life Balance — We value work-life harmony. Achieving success at work should never come at the expense of sacrifices at home, which is why we strive for flexibility as part of our working culture. When we feel supported in the workplace and at home, there's nothing we can't achieve in the cloud. Mentorship and Career Growth — We're continuously raising our performance bar as we strive to become Earth's Best Employer. That's why you'll find endless knowledge-sharing, mentorship and other career-advancing resources here to help you develop into a better-rounded professional.
