## Description

As a Commercial Director, you will use your relationship management experience, considerable skillset for technical and risk analysis, ability for business development, together with professionalism and business acumen to manage and further build a portfolio of Commercial relationships within risk appetite settings. You will work with fellow Directors and Senior Directors across the team on deal origination and execution and to ensure we provide an overwhelming customer experience which differentiates us from competitors and generates sustainable and attractive returns. This role is within the Strategic Finance Team, part of our Business Banking function. The team is responsible for building and maintaining our brand in the North & East of Scotland Commercial Banking market. At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. For this role, you will be part of our growing Business Banking team, meeting with and supporting customers across your assigned region. You'll be covering the North & East Scotland region so will need to be based locally to Aberdeen, Inverness or Edinburgh as you will be expected to travel regularly across this region. Additionally, there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events in one of our locations. These are currently expected to take place monthly in Edinburgh or Aberdeen, however the location may vary. What you’ll be doing As a Commercial Director, you will possess high levels of self-awareness and support and bring to life the Bank’s brand and supporting principles through the demonstration of our Purpose. You will network with your external peer group to cement Virgin Money’s reputation as a leading bank providing appropriate and innovative funding solutions. Equally, you will be accountable for evaluating risk and compliance to identify signs of stress with the aim of minimising the Bank’s exposure to bad and doubtful debts. In this role, you will demonstrate excellent team behaviours to drive efficiencies in administration and servicing and ensure successful on-boarding of new customers, and will work closely with the Senior Directors in the team to deliver key transactions including as part of your own personal development. As a Commercial Director, you will use your strong experience to analyse and interpret business and financial information and recommend lending proposals for credit decisioning. You will also ensure the appropriate loan and security documentation is prepared and in order. About you We need you to have: Proven technical, credit and deal management skills with a demonstrable track record of delivering a range of financial solutions, from secured to unsecured, to new and existing customers Experience of understanding and interpreting financial statements, forecasts and cash flows, calculating key ratios, and excel credit modelling techniques with outstanding attention to detail Excellent, effective communication and influencing skills,
