By working collaboratively with our suppliers, technical managers, and external partners, you will play a key role in maintaining Sainsbury's reputation for quality and safety in the products we provide to our customers. What you'll do As a Compliance Technologist, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of due diligence management and ensuring compliance with Technical KPIs within the Food Commercial division. Your role will involve engaging with suppliers, Technical Managers, and the Central Technical team to drive compliance and effective incident management. You will conduct detailed investigations on compliance issues, identify root causes, and implement action plans to address them, while also supporting the coordination of external partner information for efficient risk assessment and assurance processes. Additionally, you will play a key role in managing the Incident Management procedure, providing technical support for the Wholesale business, and contributing to the development and management of Technical documents and communication of changes both internally and externally. Who you are As a Compliance Technologist at Sainsbury's, you are a dedicated and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in technical compliance and due diligence management within the food industry. With a focus on driving compliance to technical requirements and KPIs, you demonstrate excellent judgement, influence, and a proactive approach to identifying root causes of compliance issues and implementing effective action plans. Your commitment to delivering technical excellence, attention to detail, and effective communication skills enable you to support the management and coordination of critical compliance activities, ensuring the highest standards of product assurance and supplier compliance are maintained. Essential Criteria: Proven experience in a compliance or technical role, within a retailer or supply-base environment Degree-level qualification in a science discipline, or equivalent relevant experience Understanding of technical and manufacturing processes, including HACCP and BRC/BRCGS Experience of due diligence and product compliance management, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail Experience of managing compliance requirements and KPIs, with the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver within required timescales Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work in a solutions-focused way and influence others We’d all like amazing work to do, and real work-life balance.
