As a DC Infra Engineer Intern at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will work alongside an experienced, cross-disciplinary team to provide full life-cycle support to AWS data centers — from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. Important — Site Location & Commuting: This role is based at a data center facility in a remote location with no public transportation access. About the Role As an intern, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to provide full life-cycle support to AWS data centers, from design through operation. With guidance from experienced engineers, you will build your subject matter expertise and serve as an engineering resource for your region, applying what you learn to real technical challenges. You will be exposed to both independent work and team-based collaboration. Prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful. What You Will Do - Perform design and equipment submittal reviews for new data centers in your region - Troubleshoot issues, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site and equipment failures - Support operational issues with ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews (including for critical equipment), and event support - Collaborate with the internal data center design engineering team, server hardware team, and environmental health and safety team to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered - Work on concurrent projects, sometimes across multiple geographical regions Internship Structure Amazon internships are full-time (40 hours per week) for 12 consecutive weeks, starting 2027. This position requires the intern to report to work on site daily. Intern schedules are typically day schedules, Sunday to Thursday. Please note that full-time engineering roles may operate on a rotating shift pattern, which could include days, evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as well as on-call rotations.
