## Description

Are you curious about how the cloud works and eager to play a hands-on role keeping it running? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Services team as a Data Centre Operations (DCO) Apprentice, helping deliver the technology that powers businesses, entertainment, and innovation worldwide. What is a data centre? A data centre is a specialised facility filled with thousands of computers, servers, and networking equipment that store and process vast amounts of data - powering the services we all rely on, from streaming to online shopping. Our DCO team designs, installs, and maintains the cloud computing infrastructure that keeps AWS running reliably for millions of customers around the world. About AWS AWS offers an exciting, dynamic environment that encourages creativity while keeping our cloud infrastructure secure, scalable, and cost-effective. The AWS Infrastructure Services team looks after our global data centres - managing the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that keep customers connected to the services they rely on every day. Throughout your apprenticeship you'll grow both the technical expertise and the practical judgement to keep critical systems running - learning to diagnose and resolve issues, work safely with hardware, and contribute to the reliability of infrastructure that serves customers worldwide. You'll build these skills working alongside experienced technicians, and you'll be at the forefront of the AI infrastructure powering Amazon's most advanced technologies. A day in the life can involve: - Supporting the diagnosis and resolution of technical issues across servers, networks, and power systems - Responding to and prioritising trouble tickets to keep data centre operations running smoothly - Installing and setting up server racks, following company procedures and safety standards - Learning to replace hardware components safely and accurately, under guidance from experienced technicians - Monitoring system performance and contributing to preventative maintenance activities - Gaining exposure to cyber security principles and system protection best practices - Collaborating with facilities teams during power and cooling maintenance events - Participating in small to mid-scale projects that enhance system reliability and efficiency We welcome individuals from all backgrounds with a keen interest in technology, strong problem-solving skills, and a customer-first mindset. A proactive, organised approach and the ability to communicate technical information clearly matter most. We move fast, fail fast, and fix faster, so you'll be encouraged to learn by doing from day one. These roles are based in data centres in surrounding areas of London, with specific site details shared later in the recruitment process. Here at Amazon, it's in our nature to learn and be curious. Within this apprenticeship you'll put newfound knowledge into practice every day, supported by first-class coaching, tailored development, and rewarding work that will empower you to reach new heights and build the future you envision. You'll gain a vast range of experiences and skills while working towards the Information Communications Technician – Support Technician Professional Level 3 Apprenticeship qualification. As a working student, your focus is to complete your studies in your 20% off-the-job time, developing the skills, knowledge, and behaviours to work towards successful graduation. You'll be set objectives and goals by your training provider and manager to support your studies. You'll build your skills over an 18-month period, starting in September. Your apprenticeship will combine classroom/virtual-based training to cover knowledge, on-the-job training at your Amazon base location, online learning, and mentoring from our experienced team members. We value different perspectives and experiences, and we're dedicated to creating an inclusive
