We are looking for a Data integration & System engineers to join our Martech & Sales Technology Department in Helsinki. If you have several years of experience in designing, building and operating scalable data pipelines and data flow and want to that enable NBA (next best action, an AI-driven decision-making strategy to identify the single most relevant interaction to take with a customer real-time) decisioning to operate reliably across on-premise and cloud platforms, then read on! Our mission is to build, govern and scale Nordea’s NBA capability as a Nordic-wide decisioning foundation, enabling relevant, data-driven and personalized customer interactions across markets, business areas and channels. We own the common decisioning frameworks, data and intelligence foundations, governance and platform enablement. What you’ll be doing In this role, your main responsibilities will be: Drive migration and modernization of data from Hadoop/Cloudera to GCP/Snowflake (BigQuery and related services) Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines across on-premise and Google Cloud Platform environments Build and maintain batch and near real-time data flows ensuring availability, freshness, and performance Ensure reliable, scalable, and performant data delivery for decisioning and analytics use cases Implement and maintain data integration with Pega CDH / Infinity, ensuring data is correctly structured and available for decision strategies and AI models Ensure data quality, lineage, traceability, and compliance with governance and regulatory requirements Implement monitoring, validation, and reconciliation processes for data pipelines Collaborate with Data Scientists, Decisioning SMEs, Architects, and Product teams to align data flows with business needs Apply modern development practices including CI/CD, version control, and automated testing Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Codex, Claude, Google AI tools) to improve productivity and quality Ensure compliance with Nordea Quality Standards Who you are This is the right role for you if you have: Engineering Mindset Attention to Detail Curiosity and Continuous Learning Pragmatism and Problem-Solving Experience in in designing, building and operating scalable data pipelines and data flows both on-prem and cloud Your background and skills include: Hadoop/Cloudera ecosystem: Strong experience with on-premise big data platforms and migration to cloud Google Cloud Platform or/and Snowflake: Hands-on experience with BigQuery and cloud-based data pipelines Experience with transition from on-premise setup to cloud on with AWS / Snowflake / Google Cloud Platform Data pipeline development: Proven experience building scalable batch and real-time data flows Spark & Scala: Strong hands-on experience with distributed data processing Python development: Solid programming skills for data engineering use cases SQL expertise: Advanced skills in data querying, transformation, and optimization Data modeling: Strong experience designing robust and scalable data structures Data integration: Experience integrating data with enterprise platforms, including Pega CDH / Infinity Software engineering practices: Experience with CI/CD, version control (e.g. Git), and testing
