Come join us and help shape a safer, simpler digital future. Browser Extension Excellence owns the foundation that supports 1Password’s browser extension, our most-frequently used client surface. This includes architecture, health monitoring, build and test pipelines, developer tooling, cross-browser compatibility, and setting new standards within the WECG. We investigate production incidents, improve load and runtime performance, and guide the extension through changes such as Manifest V3 and browser version deprecations. This is a remote opportunity within Canada/US. This position will be for 4 months - January to April 2027. What You Can Expect: Write efficient, scalable, and robust customer-facing features in one or more of our web or Rust tech stacks. Collaborate with people across the company like Product, Design, Customer Support, Release Ops, and other Software Development teams. Focus on building and optimizing features in our extension as well as working with browser-specific APIs and behaviors (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) Focusing on extension performance, stability, and correctness What we're looking for: Confidence: A willingness to take on new challenges, and see them through to completion. Humility: You're not afraid to ask "stupid" questions and make mistakes (as long as you learn from them). Curiosity: You look for better ways of doing things, even if everyone seems happy with how they are. Teamwork: We work together, and succeed as a team! Bonus points for: Experience or interest in working with browser extensions Someone interested in working in multiple tech stacks. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. We’re a distributed team so written communication in particular is very crucial. Someone who thinks about the impact of their work in terms of the end user.
