Come join us and help shape a safer, simpler digital future. The Vaults team owns the extraction and operation of file, sync, and vault functionality from b5 into dedicated services. This is a remote opportunity within Canada/US. This position will be for 4 months - January to April 2027. What You Can Expect: Contribute to the Vaults team’s migration of backend functionality from b5 into dedicated services, improving maintainability and scalability. Help implement and test APIs and data-access components for vaults, files, and sync workflows under the guidance of experienced engineers. Develop automated tests and support CI/CD improvements to make service releases safer and more reliable. Assist with service monitoring, technical documentation, and troubleshooting in development and test environments. Collaborate with teammates through design discussions, code reviews, and sprint planning while building practical backend engineering skills. What we're looking for: Confidence: A willingness to take on new challenges, and see them through to completion. Humility: You're not afraid to ask "stupid" questions and make mistakes (as long as you learn from them). Curiosity: You look for better ways of doing things, even if everyone seems happy with how they are. Teamwork: We work together, and succeed as a team! Bonus points for: Familiarity with Go and building or testing backend APIs. Exposure to relational databases, distributed systems, or cloud platforms such as AWS. Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, or observability tools such as Datadog.
