Job Description: HPE Networking is seeking a hands-on strategy leader to help shape the direction of the business and drive execution of its highest-priority initiatives. Reporting to the VP of Strategy for our networking business, the Director, Strategy & Execution will help define strategic priorities, evaluate growth opportunities, inform investment decisions, lead high-impact initiatives, and drive execution against key business objectives. The successful candidate will be a trusted thought partner to senior leaders, combining rigorous problem solving, fact-based analysis, sound business judgment, and a strong focus on outcomes. The ideal candidate brings the structured thinking of top-tier strategy consulting, a strong bias for action, and a track record of translating strategy into measurable business results. This position can be located in Houston, TX or San Jose, CA Key Responsibilities Shape Business Strategy Assess growth opportunities, market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging industry shifts. Develop fact-based recommendations to inform business, portfolio, investment, and partnership decisions. Partner with senior leaders to define strategic priorities and long-term business direction. Help address the most critical business questions facing HPE Networking. Lead High-Impact Strategic Initiatives Lead the company's highest-priority strategic projects from problem definition through recommendation, decision, execution, and impact. Structure and solve complex business problems requiring cross-functional leadership and executive alignment. Develop executive-level analysis, recommendations, and presentations for senior leadership. Serve as an internal advisor on critical business challenges and opportunities. Drive Strategic Execution Translate strategic priorities into clear action plans and measurable outcomes. Align stakeholders and functions to accelerate execution. Identify risks, barriers, and interdependencies that may affect strategic objectives. Maintain momentum and ensure initiatives deliver intended business results. Executive Partnership Serve as a trusted thought partner to the VP, Strategy & Business Development. Support executive planning, strategic reviews, leadership offsites, and other high-priority business forums. Frame complex business issues, challenge assumptions, and develop actionable recommendations. Build alignment and support decision-making across the Networking leadership team. Build Strategic Insight Develop a deep understanding of market trends, customer needs, competitive positioning, and industry developments. Apply a fact-based approach to strategic decision-making. Generate insights that shape strategic choices and improve business performance. Qualifications 8+ years of experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, strategic planning, business transformation, or a related field. Proven experience leading complex strategic initiatives from concept through execution. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and structured-thinking skills. Strong executive communication and presentation capabilities.
