About this Role The Duty Engineer is responsible for carrying out and supporting the maintenance, repair, and operation of hotel facilities and equipment to ensure a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for guests and colleagues. The role involves responding to maintenance requests, conducting routine inspections, and assisting in preventive maintenance activities across the resort. Key Duties and Responsibilities Perform daily maintenance and repair work on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, kitchen, laundry, and other hotel equipment. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities. Conduct routine inspections of engineering equipment and report any defects or abnormalities. Assist in carrying out preventive maintenance programs as scheduled. Troubleshoot equipment faults and perform repairs within established standards. Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies and procedures. Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance work and equipment status. Support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives within the resort. Ensure tools, equipment, workshops, and plant rooms are kept clean, organized, and safe. Coordinate with colleagues and other departments to minimize operational disruptions. Participate in emergency maintenance and breakdown response when required. Report major maintenance issues to the Engineering Supervisor or Chief Engineer. About You Certificate, Diploma, or Technical Qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Plumbing, or a related engineering discipline.Minimum 2-3 years of experience in engineering maintenance, preferably within a hotel, resort, or hospitality environment.Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance systems.Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to use maintenance tools and equipment safely and effectively.Understanding of occupational health and safety practices.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and emergency call-outs when required.
