## Description

The Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) is an independent, private-sector-led initiative focused on mobilising private finance and removing barriers to investment in the global transition. GFANZ supports financial sector firms that recognise the opportunity created by the transition, working to identify financing opportunities and develop solutions to unlock investment, particularly in Emerging Markets and Developing Economies (EMDEs). GFANZ Regional Networks, spanning Africa, Asia Pacific, and Latin America & the Caribbean, were established to embed regional perspectives and expertise in global strategy development, and to support the delivery of global workstreams in ways that align with regional realities. The networks are a vital source of intelligence, influence, and impact for GFANZ globally. The APAC Network was established in June 2022 and has developed broad and deep engagement across the region, including through the APAC Network Central Office in Singapore and the Country Chapters in Japan and Hong Kong. It focuses on four strategic priorities: 1) working with financial institutions to support real economy decarbonisation; 2) working with governments and regulators to improve the enabling environment; 3) mobilising capital into emerging markets and developing economies; and 4) enabling knowledge-sharing and capacity building on sustainable finance. The Network's overarching aim is to bring together the financial sector to work with the real economy and the official sector across developed and emerging economies in APAC to accelerate an inclusive transition to resilient and sustainable economies. What's the role? We are looking for an experienced and diplomatic Regional Director to lead the GFANZ Asia Pacific Network. The Regional Director is responsible for co-creating the strategic direction and workplan for APAC, overseeing delivery, and engaging regional stakeholders and financial institutions. The successful candidate will be an experienced finance professional able to combine strategic vision and political judgment with strong project and people management skills, maintaining a culture of collaboration and high-quality execution. We will trust you to: Lead the GFANZ APAC Network and manage the APAC team: Serve as primary project director and on-the-ground ambassador for GFANZ across the region, with ultimate accountability for the quality and impact of all Network activities and work products. The Director will manage and empower the APAC team to deliver to a high standard Drive regional stakeholder engagement: Build and maintain connections with key stakeholders across APAC - including financial institutions, policymakers, Country Chapter leads, and partners from the official, scientific and climate communities - ensuring programming engages relevant actors across the region's diverse markets Provide thought leadership: Enable financial institutions and policymakers to understand the value of GFANZ’s work, developing and coordinating regional programming, training, and resources Integrate regional and global strategy: Work closely with the global GFANZ Secretariat to ensure APAC Network activities are aligned with the broader GFANZ workplan. Surface regional developments, expertise, stakeholder feedback, and implementation insights to inform global priorities and decision-making You will need to have: Strong experience in the financial or official sector, with a track record of mobilising finance for climate or development objectives Deep familiarity with the financial, policy and regulatory landscape across APAC, including blended finance and private capital mobilisation Demonstrated ability to build trusted senior
