Mō te tūranga - About the role As Head of Operational Data Delivery, you’ll lead the delivery of critical data outcomes across ANZ New Zealand, bringing together data engineering, analysis, delivery and strong business partnerships to turn complex priorities into reliable, reusable solutions. You’ll lead a broad data delivery function responsible for translating business, operational and regulatory needs into high-quality data outcomes. Just as importantly, you’ll build the capability, culture and ways of working that allow our people to deliver at their best. This is a role for a leader who can move comfortably between strategy and execution, bringing clarity to complexity, making thoughtful trade-offs and creating the conditions for great delivery. Role Type: Permanent Hours: Standard 37.5 hours Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like You will be responsible for: Setting the direction for Operational Data Delivery and translating data strategy and business priorities into clear delivery outcomes Leading complex data engineering and delivery portfolios across data sourcing, movement, modelling and analysis Building, leading and developing a high-performing multidisciplinary data delivery function Creating consistent standards and practices that strengthen engineering quality, reusability, testing and operational readiness Partnering across business, Technology, Strategy & Execution and Risk to align priorities, resolve blockers and make effective trade-off decisions Ensuring data outcomes meet our risk, privacy, security, resilience and regulatory expectations Improving productivity and simplifying delivery through automation, reusable approaches and fit-for-purpose technology Managing workforce, investment and delivery partners while creating an inclusive culture centred on customers, accountability and continuous improvement Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring: Significant technology leadership experience across enterprise data, AI, cloud or platform engineering Deep expertise in modern data and AI platforms, including the architecture and engineering practices needed to deliver secure, scalable enterprise capability Experience enabling AI/ML and Generative AI at enterprise scale, including taking capability from experimentation through to production Strong commercial and strategic judgement, with experience balancing innovation, reliability, scalability, investment and cost A strong understanding of security, privacy, governance and risk within a complex or regulated environment An inclusive and influential leadership style, with the ability to build high-performing technical teams and bring diverse stakeholders together around shared outcomes You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills.
