Job Description: CLASS 1 HGV DRIVER - DAYS Polar Speed UPS, Unit 2 Belgrave Court, Caxton Road, Fullwood, Preston, PR2 9ZB Monday - Friday - 40 hours per week - 6.30am start £39,287 p/a, £18.89 per hour Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities: Managing the scanning of packages or pallets to your delivery vehicle Ensuring the safe and secure loading of all consignments to your vehicle, using the appropriate equipment Assisting with the loading and unloading of deliveries Ensure vehicle is always kept at the correct temperature Conducting vehicle safety checks, inlcuding the refrigeration unit Maintaining the cleanliness of both cab and chambers Reporting all defects as per the defect reporting process Adherence to all legislation governing HGV driving in the UK & IRL Always demonstrating a professional and safe driving competency Excellent communication and customer service skills Always demonstrating a professional and safe driving competency Delivering and collecting of pharmaceutical consignments to GP Surgeries, Retail Pharmacies, Hospitals and Wholesalers Specialied Knoweldge and Requirements Must hold a Class 1 C&E category driving licence, ideally with no more than 3 points Minimum 2 years driving epxerience including motorways Previous relevant experience is advantageous Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise Team player mentality with ability to work on own initiative Appreciate the need for retaining confidentiality Build effetcive working relationships with customers, clients, colleagues and other departments across the network * For succesful candidates, Polar Speed UPS will run an enhanced DBS check* Employee Type: Permanent UPS is committed to providing a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
