Job Title: Implementation Portfolio Manager (Asian Equities) About Us Schroders is a global investment manager which provides active asset management, wealth management and investment solutions. Job Summary: We aim to successfully assist in the management and implementation of a portfolio’s investment strategy. Implementation Portfolio Managers take responsibility for implementation of investment decisions and trades, working closely with Head of Portfolio Implementation and Investment Teams to design and propose the investment implementation and pre-trade compliance monitoring process. In some teams they are also responsible for overseeing cash management, and corporate actions. An Implementation Portfolio Manager’s main stakeholder is the Investment team; however as a senior team member he/ she is also expected to be able to manage and navigate more complex queries by representing the Investment Team in providing the support link between Investment Product, Operations & Client Group teams. A good Implementation Portfolio Manager has to be able to meet the following criteria. 1. At least 7 years in portfolio implementation relevant experience 2. Have the support and trust of Investment colleagues when conducting the day-to-day as well as any ad-hoc investment implementation 3. Have good knowledge of operational processes, business and market requirements. 4. Have a good understanding of guidelines and regulations of mandates and funds managed by the investment desk 5. Possess strong knowledge of regulations and execution processes for all markets included in desk strategies. 6. Well versed in the Group’s policies and processes, including for e.g. the Risk Event Reporting procedures 7. Have sufficient proficiency in Mandarin and written Chinese to review and interpret Chinese-language documentation and regulatory requirements Key Responsibilities: Key Activities • Designing and proposing procedures for implementation, pre-trade compliance monitoring and portfolio management • Trade authorisation (for Time Deposit and Unit Trust Only) • Day to day Portfolio oversight • Cash management & hedging • Transition management activities and fund restructuring • Risk Management using derivatives • Drift management of portfolio positions • Liquidity Monitoring • Coordinate Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) with Dealing team • Delivery of on-desk training (systems and processes) Key Behaviours For Success • Attention to detail – granular, detail-oriented with strong mathematical and technical skills • Strong time management - able to prioritise effectively and multi-task • Team player & relationship building – establish strong connections and work collaboratively within the Implementation team, as well as with Fund Managers, Investment Product, Dealers, Portfolio Compliance, Performance, Ops & Fund Services teams • Good judgement - ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure, able to exercise good judgement • Reliable - Sense of urgency, yet calm under pressure, trustworthy, disciplined, professional • Good communicator – clear, transparent, detailed, accessible and empathetic • Credible – Good understanding of and interest in markets and instruments (inclusive of Derivatives) • Prompt and Responsive – Pro-active and responds to calls/emails promptly What an Implementation Portfolio Manager does not do There are several activities which an
