ABOUT THE ROLE The Infrastructure Support Specialist will provide technical support, administration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure within classified and restricted environments. The role ensures the availability, security, and reliability of servers, endpoints, storage, virtualization, and supporting infrastructure while complying with applicable security requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, workstations, storage, virtualization platforms, and IT infrastructure. Provide day-to-day technical support for classified IT systems and users. Manage operating systems, system configurations, software deployment, patching, and upgrades. Implement system hardening, access controls, endpoint security, and secure configuration baselines. Monitor system health, availability, performance, and security events. Support backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business-continuity activities. Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, and infrastructure issues. Maintain system documentation, asset inventories, configuration records, and operational procedures. Support vulnerability remediation, security audits, inspections, and accreditation/authorization activities. Ensure classified systems and equipment are securely installed, maintained, transferred, and decommissioned. Coordinate with network and cybersecurity teams to resolve infrastructure and security issues. Follow strict security, access-control, need-to-know, and change management procedures. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS At least 4 years experience within an Infrastructure Support role Should have familiarity with DISA STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, and the NIST SP 800-53 framework. Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux administration, Active Directory, virtualization, storage, backup and endpoint management. Security+, Server+, Microsoft, VMware, or equivalent are desirable.
