As a Vice President, the IT Application Owner Specialist will provide senior leadership across application strategy, operational resilience, technology risk and regulatory compliance, working with Business, Technology, Risk and Control stakeholders to translate enterprise priorities into sustainable outcomes. The role requires strong judgement and governance to balance delivery speed, service stability, security, cost and control obligations, while enabling Agile ways of working and continuous improvement without compromising quality. Role Description - Summary: The IT Application Owner Specialist provides accountable leadership for a portfolio of applications, setting the technology direction and governance required to maintain stability, security, resilience and regulatory compliance. The role evaluates the current technology landscape, prioritises strategic improvements and makes risk-based decisions that balance business outcomes, control requirements and sustainable delivery. The role evaluates the current technology landscape, prioritises strategic improvements and makes risk-based decisions that balance business outcomes, control requirements and sustainable delivery. Work includes: Determining the appropriate technological solutions to balance delivery and compliance Identifying gaps in the current infrastructure solutions and implementing the associated improvements whilst ensuring compliance with technical roadmaps Improving the safety and security of IT Applications, compliance with internal and external standards and operational readiness Provide accountable leadership for audit and regulatory remediation relating to the application portfolio, ensuring root causes are addressed, evidence is complete, commitments are delivered on time and overdue or high-risk findings are escalated promptly. Own the identification, assessment and treatment of technology and application risks, challenge control effectiveness, sponsor proportionate remediation and ensure material risks, dependencies and risk-acceptance decisions are transparently reported to senior governance forums. Contributing and assisting the implementation of policy and strategy specific to IT management and Information Security Identify and sponsor opportunities to adopt new technologies and engineering practices where they deliver measurable business, resilience or control benefits; ensure proposals are supported by appropriate architecture, security, risk, cost and implementation assessments before adoption. Be accountable for the availability, stability, capacity and performance of applications across production and non-production environments, ensuring measurable service outcomes, effective resilience testing and timely escalation and remediation of material operational risks.
