ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Maintenance Engineer to build and grow our Maritime maintenance operations pertaining to our products and associated equipment on behalf of our customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing and managing maintenance to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and availability of our maritime assets. This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who can work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic and high-pressure environment. The successful candidate must be able to balance multiple priorities, adapt to changing requirements, and maintain a strong focus on safety and operational excellence in the Naval defense industry. WHAT YOU'LL DO Recruit and manage a team of skilled technicians and tradespeople to maintain Dive XL autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). Establish forward operating facilities and infrastructure for test and maintenance activities. Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans and schedules. Guide the development of maintenance documentation, including manuals, standard practices and parts catalogues (in a tech environment). Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality control procedures. Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. Collaborate with the Fleet Engineering team to improve equipment reliability and maintainability. Analyze maintenance data and key metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement. Develop and manage maintenance budgets, including forecasting and cost control. Coordinate with supply chain management to ensure availability of spare parts and materials. Liaise with Maritime customers, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders as required. Provide stakeholder input into root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
