Join us as a Mechanical Technician at our Rosyth site, where you will have the opportunity to work with specialist shock testing facilities supporting equipment used across naval and maritime defence programmes. The Role As a Mechanical Technician, you will support the operation, maintenance and delivery of shock testing activities, helping ensure customer equipment is tested to the required standards. Your responsibilities will include: Assembling test rigs and fixtures for customer testing Preparing and operating shock testing equipment in line with approved procedures Fitting and mounting customer equipment to specialist shock machines Carrying out maintenance, inspections and fault finding on plant and equipment Maintaining accurate records and supporting testing programmes Promoting high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping Essential experience of the Mechanical Technician Previous experience working with shock testing equipment is not essential as training can be provided. General mechanical engineering, maintenance, fitting or workshop experience Experience working with either Air pressure, hydraulic and pneumatic systems Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills Ability to follow procedures and work safely in a controlled environment Good communication skills and ability to work within a small team Essential qualifications for the Mechanical Technician NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline This role is 37 hours per week based at our Rosyth site and is fully onsite. Core hours are 8:00am-4:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am-3:30pm Friday. The role will involve working in restricted spaces. BPSS clearance is required to start, and the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain SC clearance.
