## Description

Hill International is seeking an MEP Inspector in Houston, Texas Perform inspections of architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and related building systems during construction. Verify contractor work complies with project plans, specifications, approved shop drawings, and applicable building codes. Inspect architectural finishes, building envelope components, roofing systems, doors, windows, partitions, and interior improvements for quality and compliance. Monitor construction activities to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to project schedules. Review installation methods, materials, and workmanship for compliance with contract requirements. Identify, document, and communicate deficiencies, non-conforming work, and corrective action requirements. Coordinate with project managers, construction managers, architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve field issues. Attend project meetings and provide updates regarding construction progress and inspection findings. Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, field observations, daily logs, and photographic documentation. Review RFIs, submittals, change orders, material samples, and testing reports as needed. Witness and verify testing, startup, commissioning, and functional performance activities for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Support project closeout activities, including punch list development, final inspections, and turnover documentation. Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety requirements. Track project progress and proactively identify risks that may impact quality, cost, schedule, or construction performance. High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience inspecting architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on commercial, institutional, transportation, aviation, healthcare, education, or public works projects. Strong knowledge of building construction methods, architectural finishes, building envelope systems, and MEP infrastructure. Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings and specifications. Knowledge of applicable building codes, regulations, and industry standards. Experience preparing inspection reports and maintaining project documentation. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
