Role and Responsibilities Specific responsibilities include: Work in a multidisciplinary team environment to direct complex IP disputes, primarily patent disputes in International Trade Commission (ITC), US District Courts, and PTAB Counsel diverse internal clients in all aspects of IP litigation Manage outside counsel in complex IP disputes Monitor and analyze current IP policy proposals to develop and execute IP policy strategy Represent the company within advocacy organizations, in meetings before Congress and Administrative agencies, and at public conferences and events Skills and Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge/expertise/experience • JD with 12+ years of relevant experience at a top tier law firm and IP related government agency • Substantive experience litigating patent disputes in ITC, US District Courts, and PTAB • Experience interacting with Customs & Border Protection relating to the administration of ITC exclusion orders • Work experience within the International Trade Commission highly preferred • Experience in outreach efforts (e.g., explaining highly detailed legal issues) to the US Congress and/or US Administrative Agencies highly preferred Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Education: • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills • Ability to translate complex IP policy issues into manageable concepts which diverse audiences can understand and process • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a cross-cultural team across the globe • Korean language ability a plus, but not required • Background in engineering/science highly preferred, but not required Life @ Samsung - https://www.samsung.com/us/careers/life-at-samsung/ Benefits @ Samsung - https://www.samsung.com/us/careers/benefits/ Regular full-time employees (salaried or hourly) have access to benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Employee Purchase Program, Tuition Assistance (after 12 months), Paid Time Off, Student Loan Program (after 12 months), Wellness Incentives, and many more.
