About the role The role requires a combination of technical leadership, architecture, hands-on engineering, operational excellence, security, automation, and stakeholder management. The candidate will be responsible for driving cloud transformation initiatives, improving infrastructure reliability and scalability, and mentoring cloud and infrastructure engineering teams. Key Responsibilities Cloud & Compute Leadership Lead the architecture, deployment, and management of enterprise-scale cloud and compute environments. Manage cloud compute services, virtual machines, containers, storage, networking, and associated infrastructure. Drive cloud migration, modernization, and transformation initiatives across applications and infrastructure. Ensure high availability, scalability, performance, and resilience of cloud platforms. Establish cloud governance, standards, best practices, and operational processes. Manage and optimize enterprise on-premises and hybrid compute environments, including physical and virtual server infrastructure. Lead and manage server and virtualization platforms including VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, Nutanix, and Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI). Cloud Architecture & Engineering Design secure, scalable, highly available, and cost-effective cloud solutions. Evaluate and implement cloud services across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP. Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives, including virtualization, containerization, and cloud-native technologies. Review technical designs and provide architectural guidance to engineering teams. Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure performance, reliability, and operational efficiency. Automation & DevOps Drive infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform. Implement and improve CI/CD processes for infrastructure and application deployments. Promote automation for provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, patching, and operational tasks. Work closely with DevOps, SRE, application, and security teams to improve deployment and operational processes. Support container and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes. Infrastructure Operations Provide technical leadership for cloud infrastructure operations and production environments. Establish and monitor SLAs, SLOs, availability, capacity, and performance metrics. Lead incident, problem, and change management for critical cloud infrastructure. Participate in root-cause analysis and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions. Develop disaster recovery, backup, business continuity, and high-availability strategies and responsible to execute Annual DR activities. Ensure infrastructure lifecycle
