At ING we are looking for Quality Assurance Engineer Your role and work environment: We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Ecosystem Core 2 Team of Engineering Platform The mission of this team is to make quality a built-in capability of every squad by standardizing practices, strengthening governance and contributing to reliable engineering environments. Our way of working is collaborative, Agile and enablement-driven, partnering with squads to embed quality through shared standards, automation, governance and continuous improvement. Your key responsibilities: As a Quality Assurance Engineer you will: - Define and maintain quality standards, controls and testing approaches across products, platforms and delivery organizations. - Define and evolve the Quality Engineering roadmap, aligning quality initiatives with business priorities, engineering strategy and platform objectives. - Drive improvements in testing, automation and Quality Engineering practices, establishing consistent ways of working across multiple teams. - Establish quality metrics and provide visibility of quality performance, risks and improvement opportunities at organizational level. - Work with Engineers, Architects, Product Owners and Platform teams to embed quality requirements into solution design, delivery processes and engineering standards. - Act as a subject matter expert in Quality Engineering, coaching teams and supporting the adoption of modern testing and quality practices across the organization. - Lead cross-functional quality initiatives, influencing stakeholders and driving organizational improvements to increase engineering excellence, - Support incident analysis, defect prevention and continuous improvement initiatives, reducing production risk and improving release quality across the organization. A strong passion for software engineering, quality assurance and continuous improvement: - Strong experience in Quality Assurance, Test Engineering or Quality Engineering within large software delivery organizations. - Ability to influence technical decisions and drive adoption of quality practices across multiple teams without direct authority. - Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, Agile delivery and modern engineering practices. - Strong analytical skills, using data and metrics to identify systemic quality issues and improvement opportunities. - Practical, hands-on approach focused on measurable quality outcomes and organizational impact. - Demonstrated ability to lead organizational quality initiatives and influence stakeholders at different levels of the organization. - Experience mentoring engineers and serving as a trusted advisor for Quality Engineering practices across teams and domains. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you must have: - Proven experience defining and implementing quality standards, governance models or testing strategies across multiple teams or domains. - Experience defining Quality Engineering roadmaps and driving their adoption across multiple teams and delivery organizations. - Experience establishing governance frameworks, quality controls and organizational quality metrics to support data-driven decision making. - Proven experience improving release quality, reducing defects and minimizing production incidents through engineering and process improvements. - Experience driving the adoption of test automation, quality controls and quality metrics at scale, including their integration into CI/CD pipelines and software delivery processes. - Strong understanding of modern Quality Engineering practices, including Contract Testing, Testing Pyramid, Shift-Left and Shift-Right approaches. - Strong knowledge of functional and non-functional testing practices across all levels,
