Position Overview The Automation Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing automation systems within a regulated medical device environment. This role supports automation projects associated with new product introductions, equipment upgrades, process optimization, and operational excellence initiatives while ensuring compliance with applicable quality and regulatory requirements. Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and external partners, the Automation Engineer delivers reliable and compliant automation solutions that support business objectives, equipment performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Tasks & Responsibilities Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize automation equipment, control systems, and supporting infrastructure. Support the planning, design, execution, documentation, and delivery of automation projects. Conduct assessments of automation systems to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Analyze technical and project scope changes and assess impacts to timelines, resources, costs, and operational performance. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and external suppliers to define requirements and achieve project deliverables. Support commissioning, qualification, validation, and implementation activities for automation systems and equipment. Provide technical guidance and coaching to junior engineers and other team members. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, and productivity of manufacturing operations.
