It's an exciting time to join Group Customer & Communications (GCC) at Nationwide as we embark on a significant journey for both our core Nationwide brand and the integration of Virgin Money, which will be the primary focus of this role. As a Senior Portfolio Lead, you'll play a pivotal role within the GCC function, leading complex, multi-workstream programmes and shaping the portfolio of transformation activity that supports the integration of Virgin Money into Nationwide. You'll bring structure, clarity and momentum to large-scale change, operating confidently at senior levels and overseeing multiple interdependent projects to deliver meaningful business outcomes. An experienced change professional, you'll be comfortable shaping and delivering large, complex portfolios of business change. You'll thrive in ambiguity and be adept at working with diverse stakeholder groups to translate strategic ambitions and desired outcomes into clear, actionable and deliverable programmes of work. This role sits within the Group Customer & Communications (GCC) function at Nationwide. The function's purpose is to understand our customers, create meaningful engagement opportunities, and build compelling customer experiences and communications. Customer strategy, marketing, brand, digital channels, and legal, regulatory and mandatory communications all sit within GCC, alongside our social impact agenda and focus on supporting communities. As part of the GCC Change Team, you'll help ensure programme deliverables are aligned to wider integration and Society priorities. You'll lead key milestones through critical stages, mobilise resources, and bring project teams together behind a shared vision, common objectives and an integrated programme plan. The primary focus of the role will be leading GCC-owned integration activity that brings together the Nationwide and Virgin Money brands, customer propositions and customer experiences. What you’ll be doing This role is responsible for leading the delivery of GCC's integration change portfolio, ensuring complex transition activity is translated into clear outcomes, robust plans and achievable milestones that support both strategic objectives and successful business implementation. You'll provide leadership across multiple workstreams, bringing together teams and stakeholders to ensure integration priorities are delivered in a structured, controlled and customer-focused way. Working across a broad and complex landscape, you'll drive alignment, maintain momentum and ensure delivery remains focused on achieving the intended business outcomes. A key aspect of the role will be providing portfolio oversight across the integration agenda, supporting effective decision-making and ensuring activity is coordinated across GCC and the wider organisation. You'll manage dependencies, risks and interlocks across business functions and enterprise programmes, balancing customer outcomes, operational readiness, business priorities, cost and risk.
