Line of Business: Communications Job Description: The Senior Government Relations Manager – State and Local leads TD Bank’s engagement with state and local governments to advance the Bank’s business objectives and protect its interests and reputation. The role monitors and analyzes political, legislative and regulatory developments; develops and executes advocacy strategies; and builds relationships with public officials and industry partners. Working across business lines and corporate functions, the Manager translates emerging policy issues into actionable guidance for leaders and coordinates engagement to address risks and advance TD Bank’s policy priorities. The State and Local Government Relations team sits within the Government Relations function in Corporate and Public Affairs, alongside TD's communications and citizenship teams. The team builds meaningful relationships with governor's offices, state legislators, regulators and big-city mayors and councils across TD's footprint. It advocates on policy that affects TD's customers and communities and helps the business grow by ensuring TD is a trusted and visible partner. Reporting to the Head of State and Local Government Relations, this role will support our Southeast Market. The Senior Government Relations Manager protects and enhances TD Bank's interests with government affairs. The Senior Government Relations Manager oversees the development and execution of political, legislative and regulatory programs and strategies. Depth & Scope: Oversees multiple and/or complex government relations activities, projects/programs/strategies that may impact several businesses/product lines/the enterprise Recognized as top level government relations expert within the organization and requires significant in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in their in a complex field and knowledge of broader related areas Manages/oversees the development and execution of effective tactical and strategic management of government relations that support business objectives, ensuring the Banks interest and reputation are advanced and protected Substantial relationship management breadth and influence in leading strategic initiatives, planning and/or integrating executional activities Leads projects of significant scope, strategic impact, and complexity Provides advisory services to executives, business segment leaders, and governs the requirements for own work Integrates knowledge of the enterprise function's or business segments overarching strategy in leading program design, policy formulation or operating standards within one or more areas Builds relationships and serves as TD Bank's principal point of contact with executive, legislative and regulatory officials Monitors, analyzes, and prioritizes emerging regulatory and legislative issues affecting TD Bank and its business units and, through the Government Relations structure; interacts with middle and senior level management across the organization to determine the impact of such issues on the Bank Creates and executes advocacy strategies to favorably influence legislation and regulations, educates public officials and staff and
