In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of mentoring engineering talent and leading major technology transformations across Capital One. Leveraging a modern full-stack ecosystem, you will engineer critical infrastructure-from reimagining core payment and ledger systems to developing compassionate platforms that assist customers during financial hardships. Whether you are streamlining daily account management or building omni-channel engines to prevent repossession, your work will tackle complex challenges that directly safeguard our customers' financial well-being and deliver a more human-centric digital experience. Servicing Tech is looking for a collaborative, highly empathetic team member who actively listens to stakeholder needs, applies emotional intelligence to build trust and drives business decisions grounded in customer impact. What You’ll Do: Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices, and full stack systems to create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate code Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment Lead teams utilizing programming languages like Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript and TypeScript, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services Lead multiple Agile engineering teams or programs, providing strategic direction and ensuring delivery of large-scale, cross-functional initiatives Partner with product, architecture, and platform leaders to define multi-year technology roadmaps and investment priorities Develop and manage Lead Engineers and leads, building succession plans and scaling leadership capability across teams Drive alignment between engineering execution and enterprise goals, influencing portfolio-level decisions and trade-offs Drive end-to-end design and implementation of large-scale, distributed, or cloud-native systems with high reliability and performance requirements Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering) At least 6 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply) At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies At least 3 years of people management experience Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field 1+ year of experience leading architectural design reviews and influencing enterprise-wide technical standards and methodologies 4+ years of experience with database and database management systems 4+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or
