## Description

Senior Product Manager Job Description: The Senior Product Manager owns the vision, direction, and priorities for a larger, more complex, or strategic product or group of products, managing the full product lifecycle from strategic planning through to tactical execution. They understand the needs of the customers the product is designed to serve in depth, communicate those needs crisply across the organization, and work with design and engineering to translate them into clear priorities, compelling roadmaps, and high-impact solutions. They reason across the full system understanding how decisions in their area impact adjacent products, teams, and the end-to-end customer experience and bring the right people into the room to make trade-offs visible. They confidently shape product direction with a clear view of commercial impact, balancing short-term delivery with long-term system health and customer trust, and maintain a sharp sense of focus on the right problems, the right customers, and the right investments, treating scope creep and the impulse to build for everyone as the strategic risks they are. While this role does not carry people leadership responsibilities, the Senior Product Manager is expected to mentor more junior Product Managers and to take functional leadership when asked. The balance between tactical execution and strategic vision is critical at this level, as is the ability to coordinate across multiple functions simultaneously and to lead in building AI-enabled products and experiences with depth and credibility. This is a hybrid role Key Responsibilities: Own product vision and priorities by translating customer insight into focused direction, clear target segments, measurable outcomes, and principled trade-offs that protect the core experience. Set the quality bar by leading hypothesis-driven discovery, validating ideas through experimentation, and ensuring every launch meets standards for value, performance, reliability, accessibility, and compliance. Think end-to-end across customer experience, architecture, capacity, metrics, and commercial impact—anticipating dependencies and long-term trade-offs before they become blockers. Drive strategic product direction by using market, competitive, and technology insight to prioritize differentiated investments, protect what works, and say no when focus matters most. Own outcomes throughout the product lifecycle by proactively managing risks and opportunities, making sound decisions amid ambiguity, and timing releases around customer and market readiness. Lead through narrative and influence by communicating vision, priorities, trade-offs, and progress with clarity, building trusted cross-functional partnerships, and developing junior Product Managers. Required Qualifications: Stay customer-obsessed and deliberately focused , using AI research to challenge assumptions, prioritizing direct customer contact when needed, and maintaining clarity on who the product is and is not for. Be technically credible and data-fluent , partnering as a peer with engineering on architecture, AI, APIs/MCPs, build-buy-partner decisions, technical debt, instrumentation, and responsible AI practices. Act decisively with a bias for action , cutting through uncertainty and challenging processes, norms, or expectations that compromise customer value, quality, or market relevance. Communicate with clarity and conviction , simplifying complexity, tailoring the narrative to the audience, and proactively surfacing risks, delays, scope changes, and difficult trade-offs. Preferred Qualifications: 7+ years of product management experience, including ownership of a complex, revenue-generating enterprise product or product area. Experience in tax, accounting, or other regulated professional-services software serving large firms, with working knowledge of tax compliance workflows and filing cycles.
