## Description

About the Role As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Hinge Health, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our digital health platform. You’ll work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to design, build, and maintain robust infrastructure and automation solutions that support our mission to deliver outstanding member experiences and improved health outcomes. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role where your expertise will directly influence the stability and growth of our core services, enabling Hinge Health to scale efficiently and securely. You’ll be part of a collaborative, innovative team that values operational excellence, continuous improvement, and a culture of learning. Your work will be essential in driving the evolution of our platform, supporting rapid product development, and ensuring our systems meet the highest standards of reliability and security. What You’ll Accomplish Own and lead projects in your domain: turn ambiguous goals into sequenced plans, and set new projects up for success in production, including SLOs, observability, safe rollout and on-call readiness. Design and maintain scalable, secure cloud infrastructure. Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and config management practices, and establish reusable patterns and standards for your domain. Build self-service tooling and standardized workflows for deployment, monitoring and infrastructure management. Lead incident response and participate in the on-call rotation. Drive post-incident reviews and RCAs that reduce MTTD/MTTR and prevent repeat incidents. Define SLOs for the systems you own, track key reliability metrics, and use them to prioritize stability work, capacity planning and disaster recovery. Partner with engineering, product and security teams on CI/CD, observability and safe launches. Author design docs and influence architectural decisions with a focus on operational excellence. Evaluate and implement tools that improve reliability and developer productivity, including AI-assisted tooling used safely. Be a go-to expert in your area and bring new ideas to the roadmap. Mentor engineers through pairing, code review and onboarding materials, and contribute to hiring. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps or related roles, including production on-call. Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred, or equivalent depth on another major cloud) and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes). Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform). Familiarity with logging and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Grafana, New Relic). Expertise in CI/CD pipeline design, usage and implementation (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins). Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Go, Bash). Preferred Qualifications Experience in a high-growth, fast-paced technology or healthcare environment. Practical judgment on where AI tools help and where they don’t. Experience with monitoring, alerting, and incident response best practices, including defining SLOs. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams. Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery. Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and lead technical projects. Deep knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2). Hinge Health Hybrid Model We believe that remote work and in-person work have their own advantages and disadvantages, and we want to be able to leverage the best of both worlds. Employees in hybrid roles are required to be in the office 3 days per week, for the full 8 hours of a typical business day. The San Francisco office has a dog-friendly workplace program.
