Read our operating principles to see it in full. How you'll make impact You'll shape the long-term technical vision for Airwallex's identity, authentication, and core account domains. You'll work on highly available, cloud-native systems that secure our platform and support global scale. Own the technical vision and architecture for our Identity and Access Management and account infrastructure domains. Build highly available, cloud-native IAM products and account infrastructure using Java or Kotlin. Partner with Product, Security, Compliance, Legal, and Engineering teams to turn business and regulatory requirements into scalable technical roadmaps. Improve engineering quality through thoughtful system design, code reviews, automated testing, and best practices for performance, reliability, and security. You'll work from our Singapore office five days a week. What we're looking for Essentials A bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on backend development. Strong proficiency in a modern programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python. Deep understanding of Identity and Access Management concepts, including authentication, authorization, SSO, and MFA. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Solid knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, Cassandra, and Redis. Experience mentoring engineers and helping level up team capabilities. Familiarity with application security best practices and secure coding standards, including OWASP. Experience designing, developing, and maintaining highly available products and scalable infrastructure. Experience implementing security protocols such as OAuth2, OIDC, or SAML. Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Security, Compliance, Legal, and Engineering teams. Preferred Experience in the fintech, banking, or payments industry. Experience with data governance tools or privacy-enhancing technologies. Experience working in a high-growth startup environment. You'll thrive here if You're comfortable owning the roadmap yourself.
