ABOUT THE TEAM The Anduril Imaging team develops state-of-the-art imaging systems across both hardware and software, deployed to tackle the most significant security challenges of America and its allies. The team is heavily involved in utilizing computer vision, perception, electro-optical, infrared, and sensor data to give our war fighters and allies an advantage. ABOUT THE JOB As a Camera Systems Engineer, you will be play a key role in the development of new infrared camera systems. A Camera Systems Engineer works with optical, mechanical and electrical engineers to bring together a single camera design. This role requires creative problem-solving to meet the customer specifications while balancing the complexity of the design. A camera systems engineer is responsible for understanding the various engineering aspects of the design and how they interact across domains (Mechanical, Electrical, Optical). This role is heavily focused on prototype camera testing. The camera systems engineer will be responsible for modeling camera performance metrics (Responsivity, Operability, etc.) and then implementing the testing to verify. This typically involves writing engineering code (MATLAB, Python, etc.) to command/control the prototype cameras, infrared blackbody sources while sampling power supplies, temperature sensors and multimeters. The Camera Systems Engineer typically leads the image performance evaluation and testing. Often, the Camera Systems Engineer will be the one to uncover issues and therefore needs excellent communication skills to collaborating across teams to quickly and effectively resolve issues. WHAT YOU'LL DO Works directly with all the engineering disciplines to drive the design to be compliant with the specifications. Develop and maintain software for radiometric modeling, testing automation, data analytics, and report generation. Conduct root cause analysis on prototype failures, develop troubleshooting guides, and collaborate with engineering teams on corrective actions and failure analysis. Generate clear test work instructions for technicians and provide training on equipment usage. Analyze test data, document findings, and generate detailed reports to identify defects, provide feedback for product enhancements, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Contribute feedback to early-stage test design for new product introduction (NPI) processes.
