We are the Display Protocols team behind Amazon WorkSpaces Personal and Applications, the cloud desktop platform that lets millions of users provision secure Windows or Linux desktops and access them from any device or browser. The End User Computing market is growing at an incredible pace right now, which means you'll be solving some of the most interesting problems in providing secure, fast, highly scalable streaming infrastructure — while working across industry-leading AWS services. Our team is innovating across multiple areas to deliver the best-in-class interactive streaming platform, and as an SDE you'll own features end-to-end, ship to real enterprise and ISV customers, and have a direct hand in shaping what world-class application streaming looks like next. Key job responsibilities As an SDE on the Display Protocols team, you'll design and build features for our cloud desktop and interactive streaming platform — end to end, from scoping through production. You'll write clean, maintainable code that runs at scale, optimize real-time streaming paths for latency and reliability, and operate what you ship (including on-call). You'll work across multiple AWS services to deliver secure, highly available infrastructure that enterprise and ISV customers depend on daily. Expect to dive deep into performance — profiling, benchmarking, identifying bottlenecks — and collaborate with senior engineers on system design and architecture decisions. You'll participate in code reviews, raise the bar on engineering standards, and contribute to operational excellence across the team. When something's broken or could be better, you take initiative and fix it. You'll also help us figure out how to scale — both technically (millions of concurrent desktops) and as a team (mentoring, improving processes, writing useful documentation). The End User Computing space is evolving fast, so you'll frequently evaluate new approaches and help decide where we invest next to keep our streaming platform best-in-class. A day in the life On a typical day, you'll balance executing on our long-term roadmap with responding to emerging customer issues and finding inventive ways to satisfy new customer needs. You'll work closely with engineers, product managers, and partner teams across AWS like networking and security. Your customers are enterprise IT organizations and ISV partners who need desktops that are reliable, secure, and fast — so the feedback loop is tight and the problems are real. Beyond regular engineering work, there's always room to stretch into areas like mentoring or shaping team direction.
