Many AWS customers run mission critical workloads that depend on our networks to be always on. Network Monitoring and Remediation (NMR) is responsible for preventing, predicting, detecting and remediating impairments across our network, both physical and logical, before they cause impact to our customers. We own the software systems that actively monitors AWS network by creating synthetic traffic through millions of network devices, and localize the signal so impact is resolved through automated mitigation and remediation. For the detected issues that we haven’t yet automated, we provide a suite of expert diagnostic tools that enable our human operators to quickly determine next steps. Our vision is that any failure in the network is pre-emptively remediated before it can cause customer impact by systems that require no human intervention. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running.
