The Forward Deployed Engineer sits at the intersection of solution architecture, technical consulting, and hands-on engineering. You’ll work directly with Adobe’s strategic customers to solve complex platform challenges, design scalable architectures, and build solutions that accelerate adoption. You’ll operate in a multi-functional Customer Pod with end-to-end ownership, partnering with customers, product teams, and engineers to turn complex problems into working solutions. What You’ll Do Partner with strategic customers to understand their architecture, workflows, security requirements, and business objectives. Translate complex customer problems into scalable solution designs, reference architectures, and working prototypes. Investigate and resolve production-level platform issues across data ingestion, identity resolution, journey orchestration, and audience activation. Design and validate enterprise solutions spanning AEP, AJO, Marketo, and adjacent Adobe systems. Lead architecture workshops, health checks, and technical deep-dives that build customer trust. Prototype, experiment, and iterate rapidly, using AI-assisted tools as part of your everyday workflow. Connect customer needs with product and engineering teams, bringing field insights back into the product roadmap. Own the technical relationship with assigned accounts from discovery through implementation, launch, and expansion. What Success Looks Like We hire for demonstrated impact and experience. You’ll bring a combination of technical depth, customer empathy, and collaborative problem solving. Hands-on engineering: You write code, build prototypes, and ship working software. Your architecture decisions are grounded in implementation experience. Customer empathy: You understand customers’ goals, constraints, and definitions of success and build trusted relationships through empathy and technical expertise. Collaboration and communication: You work effectively with engineers, architects, product managers, and leaders and communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Enterprise architecture: You design end-to-end solutions across products and systems, considering integration, scale, security, and production requirements. Data expertise: You understand how data is structured, modeled, and moved and can evaluate trade-offs in schema design, identity resolution, and data pipelines. AI fluency and continuous learning: You embrace AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent to design, prototype, and deliver solutions. Proactive problem solving: You identify emerging challenges and take initiative to move them toward resolution. What You Need to Succeed 10+ years of experience across solution architecture, software engineering, technical consulting, or customer-facing engineering.
