Job Summary: The Solution Engineer plays a pivotal role in enabling our growth and innovation agenda - partnering with merchants and technology providers. Working alongside our Commercial Sales and Business Development teams, the Solutions Engineer provides technical consultancy to enable PayPal’s diverse product set within these environments. The Solutions Engineer is the "voice of the customer" providing feedback to Product Managers, Technology, and other internal groups to provide technical solutions and define new function/feature needs. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-learner, passionate about problem solving and creating delightful experiences for our customers. Job Description: Essential Responsibilities: Consult with prospects to handle technical product questions and provide guidance Collaborate with the Product Team to gather and refine requirements for new features Implement collateral materials to communicate and educate clients Execute RFPs (Request for Proposal), Statements of Works, and Proposals Present competitive analysis to internal teams and suggest improvements Act as the main technical point of contact for clients and set up test accounts Minimum Qualifications: 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience Sound knowledge of online payment processing across web, mobile app, and in store Ideal candidate will have experience in working with enterprise organizations - preferably retailers, ecommerce, shopping carts and payment gateways Experience with system discovery process, requirements gathering and systems architecture
