Test and Inspection Embedded Software Engineer (Experienced or Senior) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Company is looking for a Test and Inspection Embedded Software Engineer (Experienced or Senior) to support our Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) and avionics Automated Test Equipment (ATE) Software Engineering teams located in Hazelwood, MO . This software role supports our commercial and military platforms. The specific role includes developing, integrating, bug resolution, and testing C++/C# software for controlling NDI equipment and/or ATE electrical equipment, updating User Interfaces (UI's), and development of functional and unit tests for the software. The NDI equipment controlled by software includes robotics, LIDAR, ultrasound, and electrical test equipment. The ATE equipment controlled by software includes but not limited to digital, analog, Radio Frequency (RF) - Wifi and Cellular, communication busses, power, and display test equipment. The ATE role includes supporting updates to the test executive/sequence software. The candidates will also be responsible for maintenance and setup of our DevSecOps Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and Windows runners in GitLab. Embedded Software Engineer involves designing, developing, testing, debugging, and maintaining software that is seamlessly integrated into embedded devices and systems while adhering to industry, customer, safety, and regulatory standards. This includes translating customer requirements into effective software designs, building code tailored for specialized hardware, and ensuring smooth integration between software and hardware components. The engineer continuously analyzes and enhances the efficiency and stability of embedded systems, employs current and emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks, and stays up-to-date with relevant regulations. Additionally, they provide expertise on software and hardware integration, monitor internal and supplier software team performance to ensure compliance with project plans and industry standards, and may also take on project management responsibilities within embedded software development. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced or Senior Engineers. Position Responsibilities: Supports the design, development, test, debugging and maintenance of software that is integrated into ATE and NDI devices and systems and meets industry, customer, safety and regulation standards Assists with review, analysis, and translation of customer requirements into the design of software products for embedded devices and systems Supports building and writing code for embedded systems software to run on specific specialized hardware Contributes to integration of embedded software with hardware components Supports analysis, monitoring and improving the efficiency and stability of embedded software systems Participates in testing and debugging software for embedded devices and systems Supports implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and changes in regulations relevant to software development and hardware technologies Supports tracking and evaluation of internal and supplier software team performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards Assists with performing embedded software project management functions Communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
