This is a summer only internship, taking place between May/June and August/September 2027. Amazon internships across all seasons are full-time positions. Interns should expect to work in office, Monday through Friday, up to 40 hours per week, typically between 8am and 5pm. Specific team norms around working hours will be communicated by your manager. Students should not have conflicts such as classes or other employment during the Amazon workday. Applicants should have a minimum of one quarter, semester, or trimester remaining in their studies after their internship concludes. You will be able to provide your preference of location and start date during the application process, but we cannot guarantee that we can meet your selection based on several factors, including but not limited to the availability and business needs of this role. As a UX Design intern, you will contribute to product vision and collaborate with a team that defines and designs user interfaces, systems, and interaction, visual, motion, and voice design patterns. You must be proactive, creative, flexible, and resilient, and able to handle high levels of ambiguity. Please note that we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role. Key job responsibilities • Design thoughtful, beautiful, and useful software interfaces and experiences in a team environment. • Create user-centered designs informed by market analysis, customer feedback, site metrics, and usability findings. • Use business requirements and user and market research to help develop scenarios, use cases, and high-level requirements. • Define the UI architecture, interface, and interaction flow of applications and experiences. • Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, click-throughs, and prototypes. • Create and maintain detailed user interface specifications and design patterns. • Partner with program managers to plan projects for effective delivery while maintaining high design standards. • Advocate passionately and effectively for design with non-design audiences. • Communicate design rationale and benefits clearly to Amazon customers.
