Job Description: In order to support our Team PRS and Resilient Navigation Applications, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Working Student (d/f/m) – Development of GNSS based Navigation Applications You are a full time student (d/f/m), looking for a working student position and want to get to know the work of a Working Student (d/f/m) – Development of GNSS based Navigation Applications ? Location: Taufkirchen/ Ottobrunn Start: Januar 2027 Duration: 12 months Definition working student Working students (d/f/m) are students who are enrolled at a University or some other institution of higher education, and who are employed in a reasonably long, fixed-term position parallel to their studies. This position must not be confused with an internship or with the possibility of writing a final thesis. This employment usually takes place directly on the company's premises. A working student's main focus remains on their studies, which is why, during term-time, working students are not allowed to work more than 20 hours per week. Working students therefore usually work near their place of study, so as to conveniently combine studying and employment. Your tasks and responsibilities Support the development and implementation of GNSS positioning algorithms within our end-to-end navigation simulation environment. Assist with software lifecycle tasks, including design, coding, testing, and technical documentation. Process, analyze, and visualize complex datasets to help evaluate system performance. Work closely with software and navigation engineers to improve system functionality and usability. Document your findings and present project results clearly to the team and stakeholders. Desired skills and qualifications Full-time student (d/f/m) in Navigation, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Geodesy, or related fields. Advanced programming skills in C++ and experience with software testing. Knowledge of satellite navigation systems (GPS, Galileo) and first-hand experience with GNSS receiver algorithms, GNSS measurements, or satellite-based augmentation systems (WAAS, EGNOS). Curiosity and enthusiasm to dive deeper into GNSS Receiver and Positioning algorithms. Strong team player (d/f/m) with excellent communication skills in German and English and the ability to work independently.
