# How the AI level is measured

Level gives every job description it ingests a score from 0 to 100 for how central artificial intelligence is to the work, and maps that score to a level from 1 to 4. The same scale applies to every role and every industry. 184,997 live jobs from 1,123 companies carry a level.

## Key numbers

As of November 5, 2026, Level has rated 184,997 live job postings from AI Level 1 to AI Level 4.
As of November 5, 2026, 11.3% of those postings are AI Level 3 (Works on AI) or AI Level 4 (Builds AI).

## What is read

The AI tools and models named in the posting, the skills it asks for, and how much of the described work depends on them. Nothing is taken from the company's marketing: a company that calls itself an AI company but posts a role with no AI in the daily work is rated Little AI.

## Cadence

Jobs are pulled from company applicant tracking systems every six hours. A new posting is scored on ingestion, a changed posting is scored again, and a posting that disappears from its source is marked expired.

## Limits

The level describes the posting, not the company and not the person hired. Where a description says nothing about AI, the level says AI is absent from the description, which is a weaker claim than saying AI is absent from the job.
