We're looking for a senior employment attorney to help lead our Employment Legal function as we scale internationally. This role carries two connected mandates: building the global programs, policies, and infrastructure that let our Legal and People teams operate consistently and compliantly as we grow, and serving as the day-to-day legal partner for employment matters across our Asia-Pacific (APAC) and Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) regions. You’ll report into the Managing Counsel, Employment and partner closely with HR, People, Litigation, and business leaders on issues ranging from routine employee relations questions to cross-border reorganizations.
You Will:
Serve as the primary legal partner to HR and business leaders on day-to-day employment matters across our APAC and EMEA regions, providing pragmatic, timely guidance.
Advise across the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, leaves of absence, accommodations, and separations, tailored to the laws of each jurisdiction where we operate.
Design and build scalable global programs for the Employment Legal function, including template libraries, playbooks, policies, and training, so we can move quickly into new markets while managing risk and outside counsel spend.
Lead cross-border projects such as market entry, reorganizations, workforce transitions, and M&A-related integration, including works council or employee representative consultations where required.
Conduct and oversee internal investigations related to conduct allegations and partner with the Litigation team on employment-related disputes and claims.
Monitor legislative and regulatory developments across APAC, EMEA, and other territories as we expand, and proactively translate changes into practical guidance and compliance updates.
Draft, review, and localize employment agreements, offer letters, employee handbooks, restrictive covenants, and separation agreements for multiple jurisdictions.
Advise on global immigration and visa matters, including UK and EU sponsorship and work authorization, and UK sponsor license compliance, partnering with the People team and external counsel as needed.
Partner with the People team on compensation, benefits, and workforce programs that comply with local labor laws across regions.
Drive compliance audits, including wage and hour, pay equity, and worker classification, and guide any resulting remediation efforts.
Deliver training on relevant labor and employment legal developments and drive adoption of best practices across the business.
Use data and trends to proactively identify systemic risk across our global workforce and recommend mitigation strategies.
You Have:
J.D. or equivalent law degree, with active bar admission or a practicing qualification in a relevant jurisdiction (e.g., a U.S. state bar, England & Wales, admission as a solicitor/barrister in Australia, or equivalent).
7+ years of employment law experience post-law school graduation, ideally combining law firm and in-house practice, with substantial experience advising on employment matters in APAC and/or EMEA.
Demonstrated experience navigating multi-jurisdictional, cross-border employment issues at a fast-growing, global company.
A track record of building or scaling employment law programs, not just reactive advice, including policies, templates, training, and audits.
Comfort advising outside your home jurisdiction and coordinating a network of local/outside counsel.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and translate complex legal issues into clear, practical guidance.
Sound judgment and the ability to work autonomously through ambiguity, managing a high-volume, multi-region workload.
English fluency is required; proficiency in an additional language (e.g., German, French, Spanish, Tagalog, and/or Japanese) is a strong plus.
We are committed to building a workforce that reflects diverse perspectives and prioritizes ethics, wellness, and a strong sense of belonging. If you're excited about this role, we encourage you to apply—even if you're not sure if your background or experience is a perfect match.
