Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Email address: when you subscribe to the newsletter or take the AI level quiz, with your consent (double opt-in for the newsletter).
• Quiz answers and score: the answers you submit and the resulting AI level, so we can show and let you share your result.
• Your CV: when you ask for a free CV review, the file you send, your email and the sentence you write about the role you want. An AI model reads it to write your review. A person on our team may also open it if the automatic review fails or if you write to us.
• Order data via Stripe: when you post a job, the payment itself is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; we only receive the checkout outcome (paid or not) and billing contact details needed to deliver the listing.
• Visit statistics: the pages you view, where you came from, your browser family and your country (a two-letter code from Cloudflare). They are tied to an anonymous identifier that changes every day. We do not store your IP address in these statistics.
• IP address: logged briefly to rate-limit and prevent abuse of forms (newsletter signup, quiz, job posting) and of our public API.

We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.

Why we collect it

To send the newsletter you signed up for, to show your quiz result, to review the CV you sent us and reply by email, to process job listing payments and deliver the listing edit link, and to keep the forms on this site free of abuse.

How long we keep it

Newsletter subscribers can unsubscribe with one click at any time, from a link in every email. You can also ask us to delete your data entirely (see Contact below) and we will do so, except where we are required to keep records (for example, invoicing).

A CV you send for review is deleted 180 days after you send it at the latest. We never share it with an employer without asking you first.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of service providers to run this site: Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional and newsletter email), and a hosting provider (VPS, Europe; data center to be confirmed). These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments; we do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

CV review sub-processor. To write your CV review, the text of your CV, the sentence about the role you want and the job listing you chose are sent to Anthropic, which runs the AI model we use. Anthropic processes this data on our behalf, under its own commercial terms. Each review is checked before it is sent to you.

Optional Google sign-in

Before you leave for an employer's application page, we may offer an optional Google sign-in. If you use it, we receive only your verified email address from Google. We do not receive or keep your name, photo or Google account identifier, and we do not create an account. We use the address only for what you tick on that screen: job alerts (with a confirmation email) or a link to the free CV review. You can skip the screen and go straight to the application.

Level browser extension

The Level extension runs only when you click its icon. It does not run in the background and does not read pages automatically.

On click, it reads the open page once to find the job title and the company name. It sends only these two values to our level lookup (jobsbylevel.com/api/v1/level-lookup) to find the level of the matching job. It does not send the page address, your browsing history, cookies or any account information, and it stores nothing in your browser. It does nothing on linkedin.com.

Permissions: activeTab (the tab you clicked on, only after the click), scripting (one read of the page content after the click) and access to jobsbylevel.com, the only site the extension contacts.

Level in ChatGPT and other AI assistants

AI assistants such as ChatGPT or Claude can search Level through our public connector (jobsbylevel.com/mcp). When you ask one of them for jobs, the assistant sends us only the search it builds from your request, such as a job title, a location or an AI level. We do not receive your conversation, your name or your account with that assistant, and the connector needs no sign-in.

We use these searches only to return matching jobs. We do not store them with anything that identifies you, and we do not use them for advertising. Links in the results open job pages on jobsbylevel.com. What happens inside the assistant is governed by the privacy policy of its provider.

Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
