The Position

Job Summary:

The Product Expert for Pathology Lab is a strategic and execution-focused role responsible for driving the end-to-end lifecycle and commercial success of Roche Diagnostics China's digital pathology portfolio. This role requires an experienced professional who will lead the execution of the digital pathology roadmap, focusing on AI-powered solutions, digital workflow orchestration, and precision diagnostics, ensuring alignment with Roche's broader digital ecosystem and the unique needs of the Chinese market.

In this capacity, you will work within a culture of agility, customer-centricity, and outcome-based delivery. This role serves as a critical bridge, facilitating seamless synergy between technical engineering, clinical validation, regulatory affairs, commercial go-to-market strategies, and customer experience. You will help ensure that our pathology value stream maximizes laboratory efficiency, diagnostic accuracy, and biomarker discovery value, while supporting the adoption and sustained growth of the Pathology Lab product suite (including AI image management systems and Companion Diagnostics).

The Opportunity:

• Value Stream Strategy & Execution: Drive a cohesive digital strategy for the Digital Pathology value stream. Lead the transition of digital pathology and AI products from concept to launch, ensuring seamless integration with laboratory hardware, digital scanners, and PIS/middleware.
• Agile Delivery & Product Orchestration: Actively lead product discovery, manage complex backlog prioritization, define detailed Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) and user stories, and guide sprint planning and reviews. Ensure solutions are robust, clinically relevant, and user-friendly for pathologists.
• AI & Digital Pathology Lifecycle Management: Manage the complete product lifecycle (PLM) for the digital pathology portfolio. Gather clinical metrics, user feedback, and market data to help leadership make data-driven decisions on investment, iteration, localization, and sunsetting.
• Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration: Act as the primary operational interface between local R&D, Global teams, Regulatory, Commercial, and Customer Support. Remove bottlenecks, assist in navigating NMPA regulatory pathways for AI/SaMD (Software as a Medical Device), and ensure timely delivery of clinical value to hospitals and biopharma partners.
• Market Success & Customer Insights: Deeply understand the China digital pathology landscape, including clinical workflows and biopharma Companion Diagnostics (CDx) needs, to drive product-market fit. Ensure solutions address local data compliance (e.g., HGRAC), NMPA regulatory requirements, and digital pathology trends through continuous user research and expert engagement.

Who you are:

Education & Qualifications:

• Master's degree or higher in Biomedical Sciences, Clinical Informatics, Computer Science, Medicine, or Business. A background in Pathology, Oncology, or AI engineering is highly preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

• Deep expertise and curiosity in the healthcare ecosystem, specifically regarding digital pathology workflows, AI algorithms in diagnostics, whole slide imaging (WSI), and Companion Diagnostics (CDx).
• Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and analytical skills, with the ability to lead a cross-functional product team and drive complex projects forward autonomously.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks for medical devices and AI algorithms in China (e.g., NMPA, software registration, SaMD).
• Ability to positively approach new challenges and opportunities, using creative thought processes to uniquely solve problems in a rapidly evolving tech landscape.
• Organized, detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of written and oral communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Figma).

Experience:

• 5-8 years of experience in product management, clinical informatics, digital operations, or clinical application development, preferably in a medical device, pharmaceutical (biopharma), or healthcare technology setting with a strong focus on Pathology, Oncology, or AI Diagnostics.
