Location: Bangalore-Manyata Tech Park
Business & Team: CTO - Database Team
Impact & Contribution: Senior Engineering Manager – Database and DevSecOps enablement Crew. Accountable for leading engineering teams, developing engineering talent, driving technical strategy, and delivering business outcomes through technology.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach and develop Engineering Managers, Chapter Leads, and engineers.
- Drive performance, career development, succession planning, and engagement.
- Foster a culture of psychological safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
- Build and maintain diverse, high-performing teams.
- Set technical direction and engineering standards.
- Ensure high-quality software, platform reliability, security, observability, and operational excellence.
- Guide architectural decisions and resolution of complex technical challenges.
- Promote automation, engineering productivity, and reduction of technical debt.
- Own delivery outcomes across multiple teams or domains.
- Align engineering priorities with business strategy and customer outcomes.
- Manage risks, dependencies, and operational resilience.
- Drive predictable execution and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
- Partner with Product Owners, business leaders, architects, risk teams, and executive stakeholders.
- Communicate strategy, priorities, risks, and delivery progress effectively.
- Influence decisions across organisational boundaries.
- Ensure compliance with engineering, security, operational risk, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain appropriate controls and governance frameworks.
- Champion better risk outcomes and operational resilience.
Essential Skills:
- Minimum 15+ Years of experience across DB, Infrastructure and solutions
- Strategic thinking and organisational leadership
- People leadership and coaching
- Software/platform engineering expertise
- Engineering governance and risk management
- Architecture and technical design oversight
- Financial and business acumen
- Change leadership and transformation delivery
- AI and data literacy
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Good understanding of AWS RDS, Oracle, NoSQL DB, and experience in migrating DB from on prim to AWS.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
