Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to improving Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance in your assigned area of responsibility to cultivate a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE. Each day, you will support the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge and offering solutions and advice. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring effective risk management through HSE excellence
along the ABB value chain.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Business in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Follow up key performance indicators (KPIs). Monitor health, safety, and environmental performance. Review and refine metrics to align with evolving operational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Establish a structured framework for identifying, documenting, and tracking corrective and preventive actions resulting from audits, inspections, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
- Perform detailed risk assessments using methodologies. Develop and implement targeted action plans to eliminate or mitigate identified risks, ensuring alignment with operational priorities and safety culture goals.
- Coordinate and conduct investigations of incidents, near misses, and unsafe behaviors. Use structured methodologies to identify contributing factors and root causes. Document findings clearly and develop corrective actions that address systemic issues.
- Maintain and continuously improve the site’s integrated management system to meet ISO standards (ISO 14001, 45001, 50001). Promote employee engagement and ownership of system elements.
- Design and launch awareness campaigns, training programs, and engagement activities that promote a strong HSE culture. Tailor messaging to different organizational levels—from shop floor to leadership.
Qualifications for the role:
- Bachelor´s Degree in sustainability, administrative, industrial or related Engineer.
- 2+ years of experience working in similar positions within a manufacturing environment.
- Basic knowledge of IS0 450001 Standard and in applicable federal, state, and local HSE regulations (e.g., SEMARNAT, STPS, PROFEPA in Mexico).
- Intermediate English level.
- Strong professional judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess escalated issues, evaluate risks, and make timely, effective decisions.
- Strong Communicator and collaborative team player with the ability to drive and adapt to change in dynamic environments.
