Manager, Sales Development
AI in this role
Build and lead the first sales development team in Australia and New Zealand for an AI-focused legal tech company.
At Harvey, we’re transforming how legal and professional services operate. By combining frontier agentic AI, an enterprise-grade platform, and deep domain expertise, we’re reshaping how critical knowledge work gets done for decades to come.
This is a rare chance to help build a generational company at a true inflection point. We have strong product-market fit and world-class investor support. We’re scaling fast and defining a new category in real time. The work is ambitious, the bar is high, and the opportunity for growth — personal, professional, and financial — is unmatched.
Our team moves fast, takes ownership, and is deeply committed to the mission — operating with intensity, staying close to our customers, and pushing each other for excellence. We live by three values: Decisiveness, Simplicity, and Job's Not Finished. We act quickly on clear judgment over perfect information, we believe simplicity is what scales, and we're never satisfied with where we are. If you want to do the best work of your career alongside people who share that drive, we'd love to build with you.
At Harvey, the future of professional services is being written today — and we’re just getting started.
Role OverviewHarvey is looking for a driven, strategic, and entrepreneurial Sales Development Manager to build and lead our first SDR team on the ground in Australia and New Zealand. This is the first dedicated SDR leadership role in the region. You'll have a rare opportunity to build a foundational go-to-market programme from scratch, shaping how Harvey engages with the most forward-thinking law firms, professional services organisations, and in-house legal teams.
You'll own everything from hiring and onboarding to coaching and performance management. You'll partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and RevOps to design a scalable, repeatable pipeline generation engine. You'll also help shape Harvey's regional go-to-market strategy by refining targeting, messaging, and outbound programmes that resonate with the ANZ legal market.
If you're excited by the idea of building teams, developing talent, and driving impact at a fast-growing AI company transforming legal work, we'd love to meet you!
What You'll DoBuild the ANZ foundation. Hire, onboard, and develop Harvey's first SDR team in Sydney, and set the team's structure, operating cadence, and performance standards.
Own regional pipeline performance. Drive the team's contribution to pipeline across inbound and outbound channels, with an initial focus on enterprise law firms and in-house legal teams, in close alignment with ANZ sales targets
Set goals and own the metrics. Define team goals and KPIs, track performance weekly, and use the data to decide where the team focuses.
Partner cross-functionally. Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and RevOps to improve lead routing, campaign effectiveness, and pipeline conversion. Build shared goals, a consistent operating rhythm, and feedback loops across teams, such as AE feedback on lead quality.
Partner with Account Executives. Shape SDR-to-AE pairings and joint account planning so the team helps AEs break into complex enterprise accounts.
Stay nimble. Redeploy the team quickly as priorities change, whether that's event-driven campaigns, outbound sprints, or inbound surges, rather than locking reps into fixed roles.
Partner with local leadership. Stay close to the APAC sales team to understand where they see the biggest challenges and opportunities. Use that insight to set the team's priorities, working within the frameworks and structures provided by HQ.
Support every segment. Work with Enterprise, Mid Market, and SMB teams to break into new logos and build pipeline across the market.
Coach and develop SDRs. Deliver hands-on coaching through regular 1:1s, call reviews, and deal strategy sessions.
Design onboarding and enablement. Partner with GTM Enablement to create programmes that ramp SDRs quickly and build deep product, industry, and prospecting expertise.
Refine targeting and messaging. Continuously test and improve outbound strategies, messaging, and account targeting based on ICP fit and performance insights.
Leverage data and tools. Use Salesforce, Salesloft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Gong, and ZoomInfo to track performance and optimise workflows.
Build a strong team culture. Foster a high-performance culture grounded in ownership, learning, and collaboration.
A track record of building sales development teams from the ground up, ideally as a founding member of an SDR or BDR function in Australia.
Direct experience leading SDRs or BDRs in a high-growth, outbound-focused environment.
Hands-on experience running both inbound and outbound motions.
Comfort with ambiguity and rapid change. You're energised, not unsettled, when priorities shift, and you're excited to be the architect of something new.
Agency and independence. You're in tune with your local market and act on what the business needs, without waiting for direction from HQ.
The ability to influence without authority, navigate ambiguity, and advocate for your team across functions
A coaching-first leadership style. You invest in people, celebrate wins, and hold high standards with care.
A data-driven mindset, with the ability to analyse team performance, uncover insights, and iterate quickly.
Deep familiarity with modern sales development tools, and the ability to recommend and implement tech stack improvements.
Excellent communication skills and executive presence, both internally and externally.
A passion for AI, innovation, and the transformation of knowledge work, especially in professional services and legal.

- List these exact terms on your resume: Sales Development, Leadership, B2b Sales, Go To Market, and Team Building. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
- Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them — a tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
