Lead an agile software engineering team to design, develop, and maintain system integration interfaces and middleware for a core reservation platform.
Synopsis
Etihad are embarking on a Programme of work under the PSS Programme to replace their business critical reservation and passenger handling applications. Etihad are looking for an Integration Development Leader (CoE) for PSS to drive the design, development and operations of the system to system interfaces, data flows, APIs and integration middleware with Etihad Airways and Partners.
Accountabilities
- Lead and motivate an agile development team of software engineers providing line management and performance management of the team
- Defining the systems integration needed to deliver the forthcoming reengineering and platform change, including defining the interfaces needed, the integration technology needed, and the transitionary steps needed to ensure continuity of the systems, data and business during the re-platforming
- Provide Technical Single Point of Delivery (development and support) for any new integrations requirements across value streams.
- Contribute to the low-level architecture/technical design aligned to the high-level solution and business requirements
- Act as the SME for Integrations and focus on building the delivery capability and progressively lead a team of developers
- Perform peer code reviews, providing feedback and recommendations to continuous improve the quality of the team
- Define and maintain coding standards and best practices and provide recommendations on coding standards and best practices
- Work with the delivery teams to analyse and decompose complex Epics/Features into simpler stories for implementation
- Proactively identify new frameworks/tools/processes to enhance the efficiency of the development team
- Responsible for the end to end quality of the team deliverables
Education & Experience
- 7+ years’ experience working in a fast paced software engineering environment
- Good communication skills and ability to interact with Solution Architects
- Ability to provide good technical inputs to low-level design/technical design
- Knowledge of design patterns, industry best practices and standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related degree is mandatory
- Airlines domain experience would be advantageous
- Experience following the Scrum methodology & Knowledge of SAFE is desirable
