About the Team 

Lucid’s Material Planning team supports production readiness by helping ensure the right parts are available at the right time for manufacturing operations. The team partners closely with Supply Chain, QA/QC, Manufacturing, Packaging, and Material Flow Engineering to identify material risks, resolve shortages, and protect production flow. What makes this team unique is its direct impact on daily plant execution, using data, cross-functional coordination, and rapid problem solving to keep operations moving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 

About the Role 

The Material Planning Analyst is an individual contributor role that reports to a Supply Chain or Material Planning leader. This role exists to strengthen visibility, accountability, and response time across material planning activities that support production continuity. In the first 12 months, this person will own reporting, risk monitoring, shortage resolution support, and data integrity improvements that help reduce material disruptions and improve planning accuracy. Success will be measured by timely risk escalation, reliable KPI reporting, stronger cross-functional alignment, and improved confidence in material planning data. A strong candidate will gain hands-on exposure to production-critical planning decisions in an electric vehicle manufacturing environment where their analysis directly supports plant execution and operational performance. 

What You Own 

• Inventory Risk: Monitor reports and indicators of potential inventory risk, identify root causes, and communicate resolution paths that help protect production schedules. 

• KPI Reporting: Develop and maintain KPIs and reporting tools that give Manufacturing and Production Control clear visibility to risks, categories, countermeasures, and timing. 

• Shortage Resolution: Serve as a liaison between material follow-up, material planning, and LOC operations to resolve plant material shortages and support timely part availability. 

• Supplier Performance: Prepare and manage reports that support Supply Chain analysis of supplier performance and enable informed escalation or corrective action. 

• Data Integrity: Audit and monitor data across material follow-up and transportation systems to improve planning accuracy and reduce preventable disruptions. 

• Cross-Functional Alignment: Coordinate with external departments to resolve shortage issues, including deviation requests and stock transfers across multiple usage points. 

• Inventory Control: Establish, monitor, and maintain inventory levels across multiple locations by tracking theoretical consumption, actual replenishment orders, and system improvement opportunities. 

What You Bring 

• High school diploma or GED required. 

• 3 years of experience in material planning, supply chain analysis, or related manufacturing planning function. 

• Experience supporting material planning, inventory control, or production supply requirements in a manufacturing environment. 

• Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with reporting tools, data sets, and planning systems. 

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform the essential duties of the position, including understanding work instructions, safety procedures, and job-related communications. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field. 

• Experience in automotive, electric vehicle, or high-volume manufacturing environments. 

• Proficiency with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems or similar software; SAP experience preferred. 

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement practices. 

• Demonstrated success partnering across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, QA/QC, Packaging, and Material Flow teams. 

Physical Requirements 

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform the essential duties of the position, including understanding work instructions, safety procedures, and job-related communications. 

• Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a production or warehouse environment as needed. 

• Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands for computer work, documentation, data entry, and handling materials or reports. 

• Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 25 lbs. as needed. 

• Reaching and Bending: Occasional reaching, bending, twisting, or squatting as part of operational support activities. 

• PPE Expectations: Must wear required PPE, including safety shoes, gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, or other equipment as required by company safety standards. 

Work Requirement 

This role is at Phoenix, AZ facility. Daily in-person presence is required.
