The Position

Wir sind Teil der chemischen Forschung und Entwicklung bei Roche Diagnostics (Research and Reagent Design, RRD). Unser Herz schlägt für komplexe Moleküle: Wir sind verantwortlich für das Design, die organisch-chemische Synthese und die initiale funktionale Bewertung von neuen Reagenzien, die das Fundament moderner Diagnostik bilden.

Unser Team besteht aktuell aus 10 engagierten Kolleginnen und Kollegen. Wir verstehen uns als interdisziplinäre Einheit an der Grenze zwischen Chemie und Biologie, die mit der Assay-Entwicklung neue Technologien der Zukunft ermöglicht.

Deine Rolle im Team

In deinem Praktikum tauchst du tief in die Welt der Sequenzierung von DNA-Modifikationen ein. Dabei liegt dein Fokus klar auf der Entwicklung und Optimierung von Sample-Prep Workflows.

Deine Aufgaben

In deinem Praktikum wirst du Schritt für Schritt an die eigenständige Laborarbeit herangeführt. Dabei steht dir stets eine erfahrene Fachkraft als Mentor zur Seite.

Sequencing-Projekte voranbringen: Du unterstützt uns bei der Durchführung von Sequencing-Projekten. Nach einer gründlichen Einweisung führst du unter Anleitung eigenständig Reaktionen zur Umsetzung von DNA durch, um diese anschließend u.a. mittels PCR zu analysieren oder der Sequenzierung zuzuführen.
Labororganisation & Analytik: Du bereitest Reagenzlösungen sowie Puffer vor und führst Reaktionen zur Workflow-Entwicklung und -Optimierung durch.
Präzise Dokumentation: Du lernst, deine Versuchsabläufe und Ergebnisse selbstständig und nachvollziehbar zu dokumentieren – eine essenzielle Fähigkeit in der industriellen Forschung.
Sicherheit & Verantwortung: Die Einhaltung von Arbeitssicherheits- und Umweltvorschriften ist für uns zentral. Du achtest bei all Deinen Tätigkeiten auf die geltenden Sicherheitsunterweisungen und internen Vorgaben.

Was Du mitbringst

Du bist aktuell in einem Bachelor- oder bevorzugt Masterstudium in Chemie, Biochemie, oder (Molekular-)Biologie immatrikuliert oder Du befindest Dich in einem Gap-Year.
Du bist mit den biochemischen Standardmethoden vertraut und hast Erfahrungen in der DNA/RNA-Extraktion oder der Anwendung von Enzymen; Erfahrungen in der Analyse von Nukleinsäuren (z.B. Gelelektrophorese oder (q)PCR) sind von Vorteil aber kein Muss.
Du hast ein starkes Interesse an Sequenziertechnologien und der Optimierung von Workflows.
Du arbeitest gewissenhaft, schätzt eine saubere Dokumentation und hast eine proaktive Arbeitsweise.
Du freust dich darauf, in einem Team zu lernen und Verantwortung für Deine Aufgaben zu übernehmen und Deine Ergebnisse in Projektmeetings zu präsentieren.

Du besitzt sehr gute Deutschkenntnisse (>B2) in Wort und Schrift (für die Arbeit mit Dokumentationen und Sicherheitsvorschriften).

Zeitraum

Ab 16. Nov 2026 für einen Zeitraum von genau 6 Monaten
